SON, UNIVERSITY OF ILORIN COLLABORATE TO PROMOTE STANDARDS AND INNOVATION

The Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) has reaffirmed its commitment to institutional collaboration as it welcomed the Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Professor Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, on a strategic engagement visit its laboratory complex in Ogba ,on the 9th of April.

Receiving the Vice Chancellor and officials of the University of Ilorin, the Director General/Chief Executive of SON, Dr. Ifeanyi Chukwunonso Okeke, who was represented by the Head, Mechanical/Quality Control, SON Laboratory Services, Engr. Abayomi Danmola, emphasized the importance of partnerships between regulatory agencies and academic institutions. He noted that such collaborations are essential to fostering innovation, promoting quality education, and supporting the development of national standards.

In his remarks, Professor Wahab Egbewole expressed gratitude to SON for receiving the university’s delegation on short notice. He stated that the university is focused on enhancing learning experiences and is confident that this objective will be better achieved through collaboration with SON.

The Vice Chancellor further emphasized that meaningful knowledge is gained when all processes and procedures are well structured. He expressed confidence that with access to SON’s fully equipped laboratory facilities, students’ knowledge will be significantly enhanced, and the standard of learning outcomes will be greatly improved.

The visit marks a significant step toward building long-term relationships that will drive sustainable national development through shared expertise and institutional synergy.
