SON DG PARTICIPATES IN AMERICAN ASSOCIATION FOR LABORATORY ACCREDITATION ANNUAL CONFERENCE IN DALLAS
The Director General/Chief Executive of the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) Dr. Ifeanyi Chukwunonso Okeke is currently participating in AnnCon25: American Association for Laboratory Accreditation’s (A2LA) Annual Conference, taking place from the 6th – 9th April,2025, at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas, Texas.
This flagship annual event, organized by the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA), brings together accreditation professionals and stakeholders from around the globe. With over 45 expert-led sessions, AnnCon25 covers a wide range of thematic tracks, including quality, operational excellence, standards, calibration, leadership, and emerging sectors like cannabis testing.
The participation of the SON Director General underscores Nigeria’s commitment to advancing international best practices in standardization, quality assurance, and laboratory accreditation. The presence of SON at the conference also fosters collaboration with global counterparts and provides insights into evolving trends and regulatory frameworks.
AnnCon25 has attracted representatives from a broad spectrum of industries, including automotive, environmental science, electronics, bio banking, information technology, and forensics. The conference features an extensive program of technical meetings, networking opportunities, and an exhibition with over 30 companies showcasing the latest innovations and tools in the accreditation space.
Highlights of the event include sessions such as “Building a Successful Quality Management System Using the AOAC Laboratory Accreditation Guidelines” by Brad Stawick of the AOAC Research Institute, and presentations by the ASQ Measurement Quality Division, including “Validating Excel Spreadsheet Templates” by Dilip Shah and “The Future of Work: A Deep Dive into Artificial Intelligence & ChatGPT” by Zac Jarrard.
