Engr. (Dr.) Shehu Ibrahim Maik holds M. Eng. and PhD in Industrial and Production Engineering from The Federal University of Technology Minna; MSc, in Peace and Security Studies from University of Ilorin, and B. Eng. in Mechanical Engineering from Bayero University Kano. Engr. (Dr.) Maik began his career with The Federal Polytechnic Bida as an Assistant Lecturer in 1996. He joined the services of the Standards Organisation of Nigeria in November 1997 as Standards Engineer II (SEII) and rose to the rank of substantive Director in 2023. He held several positions in the organisation including Unit Head QA Mechanical); Desk officer LPG; Desk officer Laboratory Accreditation; Divisional Head, Quality Management System Certification; State Coordinate, Benue State; Head National Register for Conformity Assessment Practitioners; Head Management Systems Training Course Design and Accreditation, and Director Management Systems Certification. Eng. (Dr.) Maik competencies span through standards elaboration, Quality Assurance, Management Systems (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001, IMS, etc) Auditing, Halal Certification, and Management Systems (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001, IMS, etc) Training. He registered with Council for Regulation of Engineers in Nigeria (COREN); Member of Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE); Member of Nigerian Institution of Engineering Auditors; Member of Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators and Fellow of National Institute for Security Studies (fsi). His hobbies include strolling and reading. He is happily married with children. |
