Engr. (Dr.) Shehu Ibrahim Maik holds M. Eng. and PhD in Industrial and Production Engineering from The Federal University of Technology Minna; MSc, in Peace and Security Studies from University of Ilorin, and B. Eng. in Mechanical Engineering from Bayero University Kano. Engr. (Dr.) Maik began his career with The Federal Polytechnic Bida as an Assistant Lecturer in 1996.

He joined the services of the Standards Organisation of Nigeria in November 1997 as Standards Engineer II (SEII) and rose to the rank of substantive Director in 2023. He held several positions in the organisation including Unit Head QA Mechanical); Desk officer LPG; Desk officer Laboratory Accreditation; Divisional Head, Quality Management System Certification; State Coordinate, Benue State; Head National Register for Conformity Assessment Practitioners; Head Management Systems Training Course Design and Accreditation, and Director Management Systems Certification.
