Abdullahi Alhaiji Ibrahim, fsi, holds a Bachelor’s degree in Library and Information Science (BLIS with Second Class Upper) from Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, (1988) and a Masters of Information Technology (MIT) from University of Lagos (UNILAG,2010).

” A fellow of National institute of security studies (fsi), Chartered Librarian of Nigeria (CLN), Certified Library and Information Professionals (CILIP, London), Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM), ISO certificate for Marketing and promotion of standards, Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators (ICMC), ISO QMS Lead Auditor, Internet Society of Nigerian (ISOC NG).”

He is chair of African Organsation for Standardisation Documentation and Information Network (ARSO DISNET) Steering Committee in Nairobi, Kenya since 2015; chairman, the Standards Editorial Committee (SEC) and SON SERVICOM Focal officer.  He is also a member of the Librarian’s Registration Council of Nigeria (LRCN) Library Standards and Guidelines Committee. and member of ISO IEC Joint Technical Committee (JTC) One (1) on Information Technology since 2014.

He had his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) between 1988 and 1989 at the University of Agriculture Abeokuta (UNAAB). He began his professional career with Sahel Publishing and Printing Company Limited, publishers of Nigerian Economist Magazine between 1989 to 1995 in Lagos and between 1995 to 1996, he worked briefly with Lagos Chambers of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) in the Department of Communication, the publisher of the business Policy Magazine as the Chief Librarian. A founding member and second succeeding Secretary General of Association News-media Librarians of Nigeria (ANLON). He began his Public Service career with Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) as a Senior Librarian on September 19, 1997 and rose through the ranks to become  Deputy Director in Standards Development Department, where he reorganized and maintained Standards Library and Information Management Systems. In addition, in 1998 he was directed to supervise the reorganization of the Information Management System of SON (now PRS).

He has membership of several professional associations and attended several courses, conferences, and workshops both national and international.

He is happily married with children and loves football, table tennis, and Reading current affairs
