Prof Kunle is a widely published Pharmaceutical Scientist and a Fellow of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria. He specializes in drug manufacturing with interest in the development of pharmaceutical additives from locally available materials. He is also an expert in the formulation and production of phytomedicines. He led the Technical team that developed and commenced the commercial production of the first ever scientifically validated plant medicine for the management of SCD. As pioneer Production manager of a drug manufacturing company he developed and implemented processes in compliance with GMP requirements.
He is an experienced administrator having served on the Top Management Committee of a government agency for over 20 years rising to be the Chief Executive. In this position he led the institution to obtain the ISO 17025 accreditation of its laboratories making the agency, which already had ISO 9001:2015 accreditation, one of the few public institutions with such multiple accreditations. He has served on a number of committees and is presently a member of the WHO Regional Expert Committee on traditional Medicines for COVID-19.
In his present position as Chief of Staff to the Director General of SON, he assists and advises the DG on the formulation and implementation of policies to enhance the delivery of high quality services by the Organisation. As well as helping to optimize the utilization of human and material resources in the organisation.
