Mr Attahiru M. Stephen holds a B.Tech in Chemistry/Polymer Science from The Federal University of Technology Minna (1990) and M.Sc. in Environmental Chemistry from the University of Nairobi Kenya(2004)
Mr Attahiru Stephen began his career in 1995 as a shift brewer with The Jos International Breweries to 2000. He Joined the Standards Organisation of Nigeria in 2005 as Senior Standards Officer and rose to the rank of a Deputy Director and Head, International Product Certification Department in 2026.
Mr Attahiru Stephen had an extensive career in the Laboratory from 2005 to 2021 during which period the SON laboratories (Food and Chemical Technology) got the ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation by the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation(A2LA) in 2015. He became the State coordinator, Katsina State office from 2021 to 2023 when he was posted to the SON Training Services Ogba, Lagos. Mr Attahiru Stephen was appointed Head of SONCAP Division in 2024 and in 2026 as Head, International Product Certification department.
Mr Attahiru Stephen is a Member, Institute of Chartered Chemists of Nigeria, Lead Auditor for ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and 45001 Management systems. HE is also an ISO/IEC 17025 Train the Trainer, IRCA/CQI certified ISO 9001 Lead Trainer.
His hobbies include travelling, watching movies and is happily married.
