Dr. Nickaf holds a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Chemistry (1st Class) from the University of Jos (1987) and a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Chemical Engineering and Industrial Chemistry from the University of New South Wales, Kensington, Sydney, Australia (1994). He is a fellow of the Security Institute of Nigeria (fsi, 2019).
Dr. Nickaf started his career as a Graduate Assistant in the Chemistry Department, University of Jos, and transferred his services to the Standards Organisation of Nigeria in 2000.He is the author of several publications in international journals including a contribution to C.R.C Encyclopedia for Polymeric materials.
Dr Nickaf has actively participated in several National Technical Committees as secretary and member. He has Chaired the Technical Harmonization Committee of ECOSHAM and also participated in several ISO technical committees including WG44 that reviewed ISO/IEC 17025 2017 as well as ISO PC 305 Sustainable non-sewered sanitation systems and ISO PC 318 Community scale resource-oriented sanitation treatment systems .
He has held various positions in SON starting with Head, Laboratory Services, Training, regional coordinator, Planning Research and Statistics, Technical and / Corporate Affairs and SON Consults. He is currently the Director Information and Communication Technology department
He has also had synthetic rubber manufacturing plant experiences at Kemcor Altona, Melboune (former Australia Synthetic Rubber Company (1992) and consulted for Monsanto, Australia.
Dr. Justin B. Nickaf’s core competences are Polymer Chemistry, Quality Assurance, Testing, Management Systems Standards and Conformity Assessment. He is passionate about management systems implementation in organizations and care for the environment.
Nickaf is passionate about management systems implementation in organizations and care for the environment. He enjoys jogging, soccer, extreme sports such as bungee jumping, reading and computers. He a fellow of the Institute for Corporate Administration of Nigeria is also an active member of the Institute of Chartered Chemist of Nigeria, (ICCON), Chemical Society of Nigeria (CSN) and the Polymer Institute of Nigeria (PIN).
Dr. Nickaf is happily married with two children.
