In a Performance efficiency results released by the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC) recently, The Standards Organization of Nigeria (SON) ranked first (1st) with an average performance of 78.09% in facilitating transparency and efficiency in the business environment.

The Organisation has maintained its ranking as the leading Agency in the Ease of Doing Business for the past three years

The ranking was published in the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council’s 2022 Executive Order 1 Compliance Report. The efficiency of Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) in promoting transparency and efficiency is measured by their compliance with their service delivery timelines, compliance with the Default Approval, and One government directive.

The transparency matrix put in place by PEBEC, as stated in their report, tracks the existence and functionality of MDA’s websites, the availability of detailed information on timelines, costs, statutory requirements, and customer service contact channels.

The Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council was established in July 2016 by His Excellency, Presidential Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, to remove bureaucratic constraints to doing business in Nigeria and make the country a progressive place to start and grow a business.

SON has maintained its ranking as the leading agency in facilitating transparency and efficiency in the business environment under the leadership of the current Director General/ Chief Executive, Mallam Farouk Salim.
