The Director General (DG) of the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON), Mallam Farouk Salim, in the company of SON management staff, played host to a three-man delegation from Kimberly-Clark, KCSSA West Africa Limited to the SON Corporate Headquarters, Abuja.

Briefing the DG on the purpose of their visit, the Managing Director of the company, Ms. Vani Malick, thanked the DG for the opportunity and appreciated the organization’s presence at the commissioning of the company’s diaper production facility, including the support offered them during their MANCAP certification processing.

Ms. Malick explained that Kimberly-Clark had been in existence for over 150 years, and went further to elaborate on some of its activities.

She equally added that the company, Kimberly- Clark has invested about $100 million in Nigeria; hence, the move to partner with SON on a relationship that will be beneficial to both organizations and also pleaded for SON’s continuous support.

Responding to the august visitors, the Director General & Chief Executive, Mallam Farouk Salim, welcomed the team and commended the company for investing in Nigeria and posited that the move will go a long way in contributing to the growth of the manufacturing industry in Nigeria as this will immensely reduce the unemployment rate.

Mr. Salim assured Ms. Malick of SON’s continuous support and forward-looking to a productive partnership and cooperation that will aid both organizations to accomplish their objectives.

Management staff present at the event were: Director, Human Resource Management; Barr. Umaru Kawu, Director ICT; Dr. Justin Nickaf, Director F& Accounts; Mr. Aaron Tam-George and representative of the Director, Product Certification; Engr. Onucheyo Enebi and Mrs. Maryam Samson, Assistant Director/Head Media, while the MD of Kimberly-Clark, Ms. Vani Malick was accompanied by the Chief Financial Officer, Ms. Edomwasan Ibifiri, and Director, Government Relations, Mr. Emeka Mba.
