Mal. Shehu Abubakar holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Lib. Science/Sociology, a Postgraduate Diploma in Management Sciences, and Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Bayero University, Kano.
He started his working career with the Federal Ministry of Commerce and Industry in 1988 as officer Grade II and rose to the rank of Deputy Director (Procurement).
Mal. Abubakar worked variously with different Ministries, Departments, and Agencies such as the Presidential Villa, Federal Ministry of Finance, Federal Ministry of Mines and Steel Development, National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), and now Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON).
His schedule includes needs assessment, advertisement, technical and financial bids evaluation, tender board and procurement planning committee management, contract award, monitoring and evaluation of projects etc.
His vision is to ensure accountability, transparency, competitiveness, value for money and fitness for purpose in the procurement process.
