A delegation of the Standards Organisation of Nigeria led by the Director General, Osita Aboloma Esq. is currently in Singapore to conduct a statutory annual inspection and audit of Intertek facilities amd operations in the implementation of the off-shore Conformity Assessment Programme (SONCAP) for imported products into Nigeria.

The delegation comprise SON Director, Laboratory Services,  Mrs. Mojisola Kehinde,  Assistant Director,  Products Certification (SONCAP), Mr. Pious Manji and Special Assistant to the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment,  Ms. Edirin Akemu.

Others on the delegation are Messrs. Folarin Familusi, Chief Operating Officer, Swede Control Intertek, Nigeria, Seyi Ogundeji Liaison Office Manager and Akanni Oladimeji, also a Manager in the company.

The annual inspection tour and audit is a statutory requirement for the implementation of SONCAP by all International Accredited Firms (IAFs) certifying products coming into Nigeria from all parts of the world on behalf of SON.

The team will proceed to Thailand to inspect Intertek activities in that country before returning to Nigeria.

Similar audit inspections are carried out for all other IAFs involved in the implementation of the off-shore Conformity Assessment Programme for imported products into Nigeria from all over the world.
