According to the DG SON, only lubricants certified by the organisation should be manufactured or patronised in the country therefore advising that conformity to Standards must always be the watchword of manufacturers and importers of lubricants.

Salim therefore stressed the need for producers and dealers to always conform to the requirements of the standard in order to prevent debilitating wastage and failure costs associated with the use of substandard lubricants in automobiles and industrial machinery.

The Special Assistance to the DG Mr. Emeka Duru in his remarks disclosed that the DG SON is very passionate about standards and building of stakeholder confidence, therefore companies should exhibit unreserved compliance to the guidance and technical assistance offered by the organisation towards standardisation of their products & processes.
