Staff of the newly created SON Niger State Office 11 have been admonished to be steadfast and committed to their tasks in the face of challenges.
The Director General, Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON), Osita Aboloma Esq. who made this call during a working visit to the State Office in Suleija urged the staff to focus on efficient and effective service delivery to stakeholders.
Mr. Aboloma said Management was aware of the challenges the Staff are facing and has put in place mechanisms to cushion the effects so that the office can have a seamless take-off in January, 2019.
He assured the staff of the provision of a staff bus, infrastructure such as computers and accessories, public address system and multi media projector while also promising to look into the issue of transfer allowances.
The DG called on them to leave up to expectations and keep the flag flying by putting in their best and working harder to deliver efficient and effective services.
He commended the two Coordinators for Niger State Offices 1 & 11 for the smooth and harmonious relationship between them aimed at getting closer to stakeholders for more efficient service delivery.
Welcoming the DG and entourage, Coordinator Niger State II, Engr. Sunday Yashim thanked him for the vision to create the new Office to enable SON activities be felt in the nooks and crannies of Niger State, by bringing Standardisation nearer to the Stakeholders.
While appreciating the DG for making funds available for the renovation of the Office premises, Engr. Yashim presented a plethora of requests to enable them settle in properly and be able to take-off effectively from January, 2019.
Equipment requested included an 18 seater staff bus, desk top computers, printers & scanners, 70kva Generator, conference room furniture and a mobile public address system amongst others.
Regional Coordinator, North Central, Charles Nwagbara expressed appreciation to the DG and SON management for the various staff welfare initiatives and urged the Niger State office II staff to reciprocate the gesture with dedication to duty.
Director Operations, Engr. Felix Nyado admonished the staff to justify their new postings responsibilities by making notable contributions.
Director, Human Resource Management, Abdulkadir Usman urged the Niger State office II Coordinator to carefully articulate further human and material requirements for Management attention, stressing that the initial staff and infrastructure provisions were only like a seed.
Responding to all contributions, the DG promised to be personally present at the launch of the Standards Clubs in Niger State Primary and Secondary Schools in Minna to honour the Niger State office I Coordinator who initiated the idea.
The DG was also accompanied on the visit by Mr. Richard Agu, Director, DG’s office and Mr. Adebola Fashina, Special Assistant to DG/Head, Public Relations.
