The invaluable contributions of Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) workers since the establishment of the agency in 1971 has been commended by the Director General, Osita Aboloma Esq in a May Day celebrations message.
Aboloma enthused that the theme of the celebrations “Another 100 Years of Struggle for Jobs, Dignity and Social Justice in Nigeria” aligns with the vision and efforts of President Muhammad Buhari to uplift the lots of the Nigerian workers and also leave a legacy of a buoyant economy for the country.’’
He stated that organisational growth and development is only possible in an atmosphere of industrial peace and tranquillity particularly for an institution with the mandate for Standardisation and Quality Assurance regulation.
The Director General alluded to his activism as a former Student Union Leader and Solicitor to some Workers Unions before assumption of office in the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON), stressing that he cherished the efficacy of dialogue in industrial relations.
