PREPARATORY MEETING WITH PERMANENT SECRETARY, MINISTRY OF INDUSTRY, TRADE AND INVESTMENT AND THE DG/CE SON AHEAD OF AIS DELEGATION VISIT TO NIGERIA
The Director General and Chief Executive of the Standards Organisation of Nigeria, SON, Dr. Ifeanyi Chukwunonso Okeke, had a meeting with the Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment (FMITI), Ambassador Nura Abba Rimi, to discuss preparations for the upcoming visit of a high-level delegation from Atyab International Services (AIS), Oman.
The meeting, which held on Friday at the Office of the Permanent Secretary in Abuja, was chaired by Permanent Secretary and had in attendance other senior officials of the FMITI and SON.
Discussions centred on ensuring proper planning and coordination of logistics to guarantee the smooth movement and activities of the AIS team during their visit to Nigeria in April.
During their stay, the AIS delegation will tour key SON laboratory facilities, including the state-of-the-art SON Laboratory Complex in Ogba, Lagos, and the Abuja Regional Laboratory. These visits are integral to ongoing efforts to strengthen international collaboration in standardisation, quality assurance, and conformity assessment services.
